Council of the Job Code: B4032 Locations: Description- The Council of the Americas Washington office seeks a current master’s degree candidate or undergraduate student with work experience for an internship. Intern assignments include, but are not limited to: researching, writing, attending meetings, interacting with COA members, providing logistical support for policy events, and assisting with administrative tasks. The majority of the internship will focus on providing support to the Policy Directors. Key areas of focus during the internship will be: * Assisting with research and outreach for policy initiatives * Arranging meetings with Congressional and Executive Branch officials * Providing logistical support for policy events and working groups, including interacting with members and arranging meeting details * Producing material for the COA website including program summaries and policy updates * Supporting staff in their advocacy efforts * Lending support to necessary administrative tasks Qualifications: The candidate is expected to be ambitious and self-motivated who can balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be currently enrolled at an accredited university or college studying business, economics, international relations, political science, or a similar program. As this internship position is unpaid, preference will be given to students enrolled in a semester study program which provides college credit toward their degree. Skills and qualifications include: * Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week * At least 2 years of college or university * Fluency in English.
