Description-Summary
The Health Policy program at the Center for American Progress seeks to advance public awareness and understanding of health policy in the United States and offer effective strategies to reform the U. S. health care system to provide coverage for all. The Research Assistant/Associate will work with colleagues to advance the health policy goals of the Center through research support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Support and conduct original research and analysis of health policy issues
* Research legislative issues as they pertain to health policy issues
* Proofread and edit documents
* Assist in the coordination and planning of meetings and events
* Draft articles, papers, charts, tables, and graphs
* Maintain expertise in assigned areas of responsibility
* Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
* Strong research and writing skills
* Ability to understand health policy issues and to communicate them effectively
* Good knowledge of competing approaches to health care reform
* Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment
* Comfort working under pressure and tight deadlines
* Ability to multitask
* Commitment to the Center’s mission and goals
Qualifications:
* (For Research Assistant) Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, public policy, or related field and at least two years professional experience and/or advanced degree required
* (For Research Associate) Bachelor’s degree and at least three to four years of professional experience and/or an advanced degree in education, public policy, or related field
