Public Policy Institute of Job Code: B3814 Locations: Description The visiting fellows program at the Public Policy Institute of California offers scholars and policy analysts the opportunity to spend some time in residence at the institute. These positions may be located in either our The visiting fellow positions are designed for candidates with expertise in public policy issues in one of the following areas: economic development, education, environment and resources, governance, population, public finance, or social and health policy. Responsibilities Visiting fellows are generally expected to work on an institute project that will result in a PPIC publication. Collaborative work with the research staff is encouraged but not required. Visitors who do not receive substantial salary from PPIC will not be expected to produce a PPIC publication. Visiting fellows will be asked to actively participate in staff meetings and research seminars and will be expected to spend a significant amount of time on site at PPIC. Qualifications Qualified applicants will have a well-established career in research and a Ph.D. or equivalent experience in demography, education, economics, geography, political science, public policy, sociology, urban planning, or a related field. Excellent research and quantitative capabilities are required, as are very good writing skills. Essential criteria for selection include the relevance of the proposed topic to public policy issues affecting the state of PPIC values the wide variety of backgrounds and experiences of our research staff.
