Senior Research Executive
YouGovStone
The Senior Research Executive will play a key role in delivering the research output of YouGovStone Ltd, a specialist market research company.
The successful candidate should have at least four years research experience, with a background of successful management of quantitative research projects. The ideal candidate will also have a strong and active interest in current affairs and either have already worked in political or social research, or be keen to make the move across. An out-going personality is also important.
YouGovStone is a small but fast paced commercial research agency, part of YouGov Plc and based in YouGov’s London office. It specialises in opinion research with an exclusive panel of over 3,000 senior influential people including MPs, business leaders and academics. Our work covers political, social and business issues to develop thought leadership for our clients, who are mostly commercial.
The role will have responsibility for running all our quantitative opinion surveys which will include:
- writing, preparing and loading questionnaires into YouGov’s survey system
- liaising with YouGov Operations team to book in and close surveys, including writing tab specs
- writing up topline results and producing Powerpoint charts
- occasional client debriefs
- communicating findings to panellists and to the press
- attending regular YouGovStone evening events (debates, salons) in a working capacity eg front desk, passing around microphones etc.
In particular the role will be in charge of our weekly ‘Influentials Monitor’ survey which turns around results in a couple of days on hot news topics of the week.
It is the intention that this position will lead to qualitative research opportunities including depth interviewing of senior individuals plus the opportunity to moderate an ‘influentials’ social networking space.
Recent quantitative research projects by YouGovStone have included topics as diverse as globalisation, the US elections, Islam and London, business leaders’ attitudes to climate change, and the performance of UK leaders including Gordon Brown.
The role reports to the Business Development Director. YouGovStone is a small team of 6 people backed by YouGov’s infrastructure. For more details about the company please go to www.yougovstone.com
As well as a passion for current affairs, there is a need for great organisational skills, writing/analysis skills, an eye for detail, excellent numeracy, ability to keep up in a very fast paced environment and a desire to join a small, entrepreneurial, and passionate team.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
