Voluntary Internships
The Centre for Social Justice

Job Code: A1971
Location: London
Salary: None
Closing date: June 6, 2008
Interview date: June 11, 12, 2008
Contract type: September 2008 – July 2009

The Centre for Social Justice is an independent think tank established in 2004, to seek effective solutions to the poverty that blight parts of Britain. The CSJ highlights the work of profoundly differing and unique small voluntary organisations and charities.

We offer a September 2008 - July 2009 internship that will provide you with substantial experience in policy making and expose you to parliamentary work, event organisation and media launches. You will meet and work with a variety of MPs and senior politicians and academics.

Responsibilities

As an intern, you will have specific responsibility for a new area of policy and one existing area. You will arrange hearings, visit projects, and provide administrative support to the academics, organisations and MPs involved in our research projects.

Requirements

We are seeking organised team players. You will have experience of working in teams, some office experience, basic computer literacy; be a motivated self-starter who is able to take instruction well. Positive and upbeat, you find solutions instead of seeing dead ends. An ability to write clearly is essential.

Internships are voluntary. Lunch and Zone 1/2 travel expenses are covered.
