- Health Policy Internship, USA
The National Partnership for Women & Families promotes fairness in the workplace, reproductive health and rights, access to quality affordable health care, and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family. We believe that actions speak louder than words, and for four decades we have fought for every major policy advance that has helped women and families.
The National Partnership seeks a policy intern to support our health policy team in advancing progressive health policy priorities, including protecting the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid, strengthening Medicare, and transforming our health care system to better meet the needs of women and families.
The policy intern’s duties will include researching and analyzing current policy issues; drafting briefs/memoranda, fact sheets, and other written materials; and tracking federal legislation and regulatory actions. Interns may contribute to patient/family engagement, health IT, performance measurement, payment reform and other work to advance high-value care. They will also develop consumer advocacy skills. Individuals will have the opportunity to attend coalition meetings and briefings, hearings, and other events on Capitol Hill and in other venues around town.
Qualifications include excellent research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks and take initiative; and the ability to work independently.
The internship is unpaid but is available for course credit and may be full-time or part-time. Full-time candidates preferred, especially those pursuing advanced degrees in public policy, public health, public or health administration.
The National Partnership is an equal opportunity employer. We value a diverse workforce and seek applications from all qualified individuals without regard to gender, race, color, national origin, disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status or any other factor protected by law.
