The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) is a non-profit environmental advocacy organization with more than 1.2 million members and online activists.  We have offices in New York, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago and Beijing.  Our staff of over 500 includes attorneys, scientists, policy analysts and educators working to protect the environment and public health through advocacy and education.

NRDC is seeking an intern to work with our International Program’s Canada Project.

This internship is part of NRDC’s Canada team and will work alongside our Boreal Corporate Campaign Manager to protect the forests of Canada from industrial activity. NRDC has long been a champion of Canada’s boreal forest. Now, they face significant threat from logging and industrial activity, which threatens not only the species that depend on the forest, like the iconic woodland caribou, but also the Indigenous communities that have relied on the forest for millennia.

NRDC’s goal is to secure further protection for this forest from the Canadian provincial and federal governments this year. To do that, we have launched a major effort to engage U.S. companies and stakeholders that rely on Canadian wood products. Through this work, we will grow the number of voices and breadth of support for action.

This internship will begin in the Spring semester.
